I’ve been accepted as a Photographer for the non-profit “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep”. Here’s more about this fantastic and wonderfully needed program:

Pregnancy and birth are miraculous journeys. This amazing time of life is full of mystery, anticipation, joy, hope, and wonder. Feeling the powerful energy of birth and new life, watching as a new family is born unto each other. These things humble and amaze. These are the things that we celebrate when a baby is born.

But there is another aspect of pregnancy and birth. There is an unexpected
place in this journey where some families may find themselves. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. There is confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where
there should have been joy. During this time, it might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future.

This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network
of almost 6,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and twenty-five international countries. At a family’s request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.

Our entire network of affiliated photographers graciously donate their time
and talents to our families and we are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost.Your Donations are greatly needed and greatly appreciated.

I am finally back from moving, a death in the family and personal injuries. It has been a rough last couple of months and now that things are on the downhill slide I can attend to my blog which fell to the wayside for a while.

Dixie County Humane Society Grand Opening

We were fortunate and got to take pictures at the Dixie County Humane Society Grand Opening and Fund raiser on September 21, 2008.The Humane Society had dogs and kittens available for adoption. And local authors were on hand for book signings.

Ability to make payments on wedding and portrait packages

We’re currently working with a vendor that will allow us to offer our clients the ability to make payments for their wedding packages, portrait packages and even for print packages. We’re hoping this will take some of the stress off of couples getting married because it will allow them to begin making payments before their wedding and/or engagement session and then for up to about a year after their wedding date. Normally most packages require 1/2 down when the date is reserved and the remainder to be paid a week or 2 before their wedding date. This tends to add more financial stress during a time when “stress” is one of the big worries a couple face.

The ability to make payments before, during and after should shift some of the stress and allow couples to not feel guilty about having the ceremony and portraits that they really want. It will also allow you to strech out the time frame that you can pay and you can concentrate more on getting your new life together started off with a lot less on your minds.

Wedding Photographer Etiquette

I had someone ask me the other day if photographers have any kind of etiquette that they should be following when they’re photography a wedding or any type of event. Most definitely! Their “dress” should fit the occasion and they should hopefully be as unobtrusive as possible or courteous if they are having to direct everyone on where and how to pose etc. There are many styles of photography and many more photographers, but they should still follow an “etiquette” regardless of what kind of photo shoot it is.

2 for 1 Prints Promotion

We offer a 2 for 1 prints promotion on all events. They are offered at three different times, once immediately after the event becomes live in the onlione proofing area for 33days, again 7 days before your event expires and then once right before the holidays.

FAQs

Do I get charged for the 2nd print?No. Inspired Arts Photography pays for your second prints – so this promotion costs you nothing.

What types of prints qualify for the 2-for-1 promotion?

Premium/Professional and Custom Prints (excludes 8×10 Promotional Collage Pages and Album Collage Pages).

When does the 2-for-1 promotion start?

It will start immediately when we release or re-release the event to you and your guests

How long does the 2-for-1 promotion last?

After event release, the promotion runs for 29 days and is then extended for 4 days. A second promotion is offered the last 7 days of the event.

How many 2-for-1 promotions will Inspired Arts Photography offer on my events?

Currently, we offer one 2-for-1 promotion at event release, and one 7 days prior to event expiration (for those events released 3 months or longer). We also offer a 2-for-1 during the holiday season. However, we reserve the right to offer additional 2-for-1 promotions during the life of the event

How many emails are sent to me and my guests during the promotion?

3 emails are sent in total: an initial email and 2 reminder emails.

You want us to offer another 2-for-1 promotion on his/her event. What I can do.

I can re-release the event with a 2-for-1 and tell you when the offers is re-released, the offer will start immediately after the event is re-released.

Online Proofing and Ordering is on-line

Our new on-line proofing and ordering system is on-line. This will make it easier for you to view your wedding proofs, portraits and the line of products we’ll be carrying. Of course we’ll have 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 16×20 and some larger sizes. Some of our packages will include very large “paintings” of your portrait and will also be available ”al la carte” (that sounds so cliche doesn’t it?). We’ll also be carrying several types of albums, note cards and we’ll be adding more as we learn the on-line system better. If there is something you’d like to get please email us sales@InspiredArtsPhotography.com and we’ll check to see if we can offer it as one of our regular products or as a custom item.

Welcome to our new wedding and portrait photography website and blog. It was time to update our old site and to implement features which would makeit easier for our clients to view and order their prints, wedding albums, guest books and other products which we’ll be making available as we go.

One of our next features in addition to online proofing and ordering is the option to make payments towards your wedding and/or portrait packages. We’re extremely excited of the upcoming changes and features to make it more convinient.
